Ou Kalant Cabernet Sauvignon 2020

Bold, juicy Cabernet Sauvignon from South Africa, balancing redberry aromas with a trace of spice and a mouthful of cassis and redcurrants with a smoothness like a ribbon of silk. The fruit comes from several un-irrigated vineyards in the Agter-Paarl area and the premium Stellenbosch region. The grapes were hand-harvested at optimum ripeness and given a one-day cold maceration. Fermentation took place over 5 days in stainless steel tanks with regular pump overs. 50% of the wine was matured in 300 l American oak barrels (25% new) for 12 months. Fined and filtered before bottling.
