Description
Yields are tightly controlled for this Pinotage to avoid what is a vigorous variety from over-cropping which could otherwise result in dilute, characterless wines. What is left, then, is densely coloured wine with redcurrant, cherry and violet on the nose and more red fruits, dark chocolate, fruit cake spice and kirsch on the rich, velvety palate. 12 months in French oak softens the generous tannins, allowing for better integration of fruit and structure, while adding more sweet spice and a touch of barbecue smoke.
