Description
The bright eyed, bushy tailed and overtly feminine Tamboerskloof Katharien Syrah Rosé was named after our youngest daughter. A full bodied, dry style rose with a delicate pale-pink colour. Perfumed and aromatic notes of mixed berries, watermelon and grapefruit are present on the nose. The acidity is fresh and bright, and the textured palate displays intense flavours of red cherries and raspberries. All the fruit is from premier vines and 100% Syrah. Ideally served chilled between 8 - 10˚C. The Tamboerskloof Katharien Syrah Rosé 2021 has not been entered for competitions

Vinification
Grapes are harvested in the cool mornings, crushed slightly, and pressed. The juice is settled overnight then racked. (Recovery is 550l per ton to ensure good colour and texture) Two yeast strains are used to add complexity and depth. 10% of the wine is fermented in older 500 lit/ton barrels and the rest in stainless steel tanks. The wine is kept on the lees for four months, after fermentation, prior to bottling.
