Jade Red blend 2022

“Jade is an unusual, but very successful cuvèe of Syrah and Petite Syrah, which tastes as if the two near namesakes were made for each other.“ - Tim Atkin The nose shows thyme and lavender aromas, with a spicy, savoury palate. Vibrant acidity and a red fruit core bring a refreshing length and finish on the palate.

The fruit comes from cool climate vineyards on the Debos farm, at the foothills of the Babylonstoren mountain.

Fruit is handpicked, hand sorted and destemmed into open top fermenters. Aided by gentle pump overs, fermentation is spontaneous and completes within 3 weeks. After 8 months maturation in older barrels, the two components are blended together and bottled.
